About
Patrick Rhys Atack
That's Nawied Jabarkhyl telling me and our Facebook Live audience something interesting about the G7 in Cornwall, 2021.
I’ve worked in several roles across the newsroom, from reporter, producer, to news editor and shoot/edit videographer. I’ve worked in international news at multi-national TV stations, I've written in newspapers, and edited start-up print and online publications.

In 2022 I expanded my news editing skills by working on the central newsdesk, coordinating coverage and live correspondents for three daily global news shows.

I’ve travelled the world to report on events ranging from elections and high-level political conferences to trade events and press trips. I’m a mobile journalist and have worked for much of my career without much more than a phone and a laptop, shooting and editing video along with filing copy.

I’ve been a journalist since 2016, but a news junkie for even longer… staying up all night to watch the 2008 US election was when I knew a career in the media was for me, I reckon.

I’ve lived in four countries so far, and I’m keen to travel even more. Outside of work I read a lot of modern literature, especially the American flavours, I'm a cyclist and if I'm not on my bike I'm often watching racing. Oh, and I’m firmly in the ‘cat person’ camp.
